Weingut Götz

In the heart of the picturesque hills of Rheinhessen, between Mainz and Worms, we write our family history in wine. We have been cultivating our vines here for generations - for over 15 years with a clear commitment to organic viticulture.

Holger and Janine Götz are the third generation of their family to run the winery, building on the family's tradition and experience.

In harmony with nature

The foundation for great wines is laid in the vineyard - in the cellar we complete what nature has created. By planting vegetation and tilling the soil gently, we encourage the natural formation of humus and create vibrant, strong soils.

Between the rows of vines there is a humming and buzzing sound: wild flowers and herbs transform our vineyards into valuable habitats for bees, butterflies and many other insects. This symbiosis of viticulture and nature conservation is the key to wines full of character. Only healthy soils and a balanced ecosystem produce grapes that have the potential to become extraordinary wines.

The Vineyards

Our vineyards in the rolling hills around Uelversheim, Dienheim, Eimsheim and Guntersblum are rooted in special terroirs. Our powerful Pinot varieties, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc and Scheurebe, and fruity Rosé wines grow on fertile loess and clay soils.

Our top site, TAFELSTEIN, overlooks the Rhine and stretches along the borders of Uelversheim and Dienheim. Here our Rieslings and Pinot Noirs develop their characteristic power and brilliant fruit on loess soils with a strong limestone marl subsoil.
