Maximilian cultivates approximately 0.6 hectares of vineyards on the steep slopes and terraces of the Mosel region. All wines are spontaneously fermented, primarily in wooden barrels, and are crafted in a dry style.
Look forward to authentic steep-slope quality!
Maximilian Knebel originates from a different branch of the Knebel family, only distantly connected to Matthias Knebel and Gebrüder Knebel. Although his parents were not involved in winemaking, his interest in the craft was sparked about after a trip to New Zealand.
Following his studies at Geisenheim and various internships, Maximilian began working at the von Canal Estate in Winningen. Alongside this role, he launched his own small wine project.
His wines undergo extended aging in tonneaux, showcasing his dedication to craftsmanship. With his debut vintage in 2020, Maximilian has already demonstrated a style defined by remarkable precision and elegance.
