Garage Caveau

We founded our winery, "Garage Caveau," in the Palatinate region in 2022. The name is easy to explain:

The term “Garage” was chosen from the start because we produce only a few wines in small quantities, allowing us to focus individually on each vineyard.

We were naturally inspired by the concept of a “garage winery” or “vin de garage,” as the limited number of bottles we produce could easily fit into any garage.

However, we still needed another part for the winery name, as “Garage” alone wasn’t quite enough.

We love France—not only the wines but also the regions, the cities, the culture, and especially the people. Martin maintains wonderful friendships in the Southwest, formed during an exchange year in primary school.

This led us to the Francophile “Caveau,” which has several meanings that we find fitting for our winery:

Of course, “caveau” means “wine cellar,” but it’s also a synonym for “resting place” and “treasure chamber.” We like that.
